Michelle Fitzgerald
As the head of the Northeast Nonprofit Practice of Cathedral, Michelle provides technical counsel to enterprises on a wide variety of issues ranging from organization assessment and development, growth management and design, fundraising, financial management, strategic planning, and board development. Michelle has served as a panelist for the Alabama Association of Nonprofits Annual Conference and an expert reference for articles within the Chronicle of Philanthropy.
Prior to joining Cathedral in 2009, Michelle developed extensive experience in project creation and management. This includes three years in Santiago, Chile as a volunteer for Holy Cross Associates, a post-graduate service program which offers participants an opportunity to integrate their Christian faith through service, community living, spirituality, and living in solidarity with the poor. Throughout this time, Michelle was recognized by the Congregation of Holy Cross and the local Chilean community for successfully creating and coordinating projects designed to meet the needs of the surrounding community.
Michelle graduated from Saint Mary’s College-Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Religious Studies. While at Cathedral, she is receiving her Master of Public Administration in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy from the Robert F. Wagner School of Public Service at New York University.
In her spare time, Michelle enjoys spending time with friends and her church community as well as knitting, theology, and spending time with her family.
